Christmas Questionnaire Party!!!

Ok...so you are NOT going to see just one answer on most of these...I love TOO much about Christmas!!!

Here goes...

Hot Chocolate or EggNog?
Oh my, I adore BOTH!!!  Yum-O!
Does Santa wrap the presents or just sit them under the tree?
When our boys were growing up, Santa always left the presents out under the tree.  I surely miss those days!  They grow up way too quick!
Colored lights or white?
I've always used white.  When I was growing up in the 70's we always had colored lights though.  I didn't carry on that tradition with my family.
When do you decorate?
I use to decorate the day after Thanksgiving, but since our kids live out of town, and we visit them on Thanksgiving, I start decorating the day before Thanksgiving.

Real or Fake tree?
Well, since I like to put mine up early and seeing that I put up five . . . YES, 5 trees, and they are fake. And yeah, I'm probably crazzzzzyyyy ! ! !  lol

What tops your tree?
A star on one, an angel three, and musical note on another.

Favorite Christmas Memory or Tradition
The first Friday night in December is our annual Christmas parade.  We always took the boys when they were little, and then when they were older, they marched in the parade with the band.

The first Saturday morning in December is our annual Breakfast With Santa.  Santa's workshop is set up, the building is decorated with some of the original "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" furniture, and breakfast is served . . . all while you enjoy the music of the THS Aristocats.

Going to the Christmas Eve service at church, coming home and singing around the Christmas tree while my guys all played guitar, and the boys opening their presents to each other was always a tradition.  I miss these terribly now!
But wait...because it does get better...because then you get grandkids!!!
There is nothing like being a GRAMMA ! ! !  :)
Some of the old traditions carry one mingled with new ones...and lots of memories are made!

A new tradition is putting up a pink Christmas tree with my little grandgirl . . .
oh how I love that girl . . . to the moon and back!
My hubby and I are now most blessed with our two boys . . . a daughter-in-love, and a beautiful grandgirl . . . and our other son's girlfriend and her precious two kiddos!

Do you remember you favorite gift as a child?
Yes, I do!  Baby Tender Love and Barbie camper, swimming pool, and Barbie clothes!

Do you prefer giving or receiving?
There isn't anything I want or need, except to have my family around me, all healthy and well, and enjoying our time with each other.  But I LOVE to buy gifts for others . . . so definitely GIVING!!!
I do have to admit that I DO LOVE getting gifts from my grangirl . . . because they are handmade and come from the heart . . . Have I told you that I love that little girl to the moon and back?  tee hee

What is your favorite Christmas song?
Mary Did You Know, Little Drummer Boy, and Silent Night

Candy Canes.  Yum or Yuck?
YUM-O...and I adore some candy cane mocha or chocolate peppermint cocoa!

Favorite Christmas movie?
Home Alone
Polar Express with my grandgirl!

Do you shop online or at store?
BOTH...but in the last few years, I shop more online!

Photo Cards, Store Bought, or Letter?
Here again, things change when you are "empty nesters".  When my boys were growing up, we sent photo cards.  This photo is the last one when we had the boys still living at home . . . 2007.  Now it is store bought . . . I figure most ppl would rather see kids than just Kenny and myself . . . tee hee  At one time, I sent New Years letters out, recapping the previous year and our blessings.

Now head on over to Fabulous in First for the linky party!

Merry CHRISTmas!

  7. Finally time to blog hop now that we have a "cold" day today and tomorrow in Wisconsin. Love the daughter-in-love. I have four kiddos and my two oldest are in serious relationships. Making time for family is so important. I love seeing how you do that as I move into that next phase. Love it!
